Since he had been used to living in rocky hills and outcrops, the sandy desert climate was not in his favor.
Honey Badger Intro
The mighty honey badger Carlos is going to his favorite spot to find food the waffle rock. Often Carlos will find a few grubs and small insects sometimes he gets lucky and gets a snake today Carlos is especially hungry because, yesterday and the day before he had found little food because of a recent drought, and more recently a dust storm that has covered most plants and made most animals take shelter. But the waffle rock always has food, it has to have food Carlos has been two coming upon three days without food, and he has already had to defend his territory once from a giant bird. Oddly enough though he has found a bit of water even though there is a drought. Carlos had been digging and had fallen into a natural well, so water was not a problem right now but food, food is what he needs that's why he is going to the waffle rock.
Scientific background: Fred is so tired he can not continue to walk! His 50-centimeter quills have been weighing him down and so he goes to rest by a waffle shaped rock. He lays down and rests his short legs for a while.
Battle scene- Porcupine: A rustling noise close by makes Fred’s head perk. He wonders what it is but he isn’t afraid because he is the biggest rodent in Africa. It gets closer and closer The honey badger hisses at the porcupine and Fred freezes, waiting to see if he had to attack. Honey badger doesn’t care and starts hurtling towards the Cape porcupine. Fred charges sideways with his razor-sharp quills and manages to stab the honey badger a couple of times. But the honey badger is too resilient and keeps fighting, snatching a leg of the porcupine. He tries to escape and unfortunately doesn't succeed. The honey badger has won once again and reins over waffle rock with a nice midnight snack.
Battle Seance-Honey badger: As Carlos reaches the waffle rock he notices that is something about the same sizes as him by it, “Mmmm you look good.” he says to himself, and steps out of the shadows. Carlos first notices the big pointy barbs on the creatures back, but you know what Carlos doesn’t care because honey badger doesn’t care. So he charges the creature, and as he is charging those pointy barbs turn to him and stab him a couple make it through his incredibly tough fur, but Carlos is into the fight now and doesn’t feel it at first. After those sharp barbs hit him he ducks another stabbing and swipes at the legs flipping the creature, and with one quick movement, his incredible jaws go to work and bite down on the creatures neck. “How lucky am I today,” Carlos said to himself as he has his first meal in two days.
