Lion vs Bighorn Sheep
Lion v.s Bighorn sheep. It is impossible to find a lion in a bighorn sheep's habitat however one has escaped from the zoo in Denver Colorado. The lion fled to the mountains for cover, using its strong legs to move quickly through the new terrain. The lion comes across a nice hillside offering shelter from the weather and from the people chasing it down. Minutes pass by of hiding, minutes turn to hours, hours turn to days. It has been four days and the lion is dying of thirst, now on the hunt for water, and water brings food. Though a lion can go 14 days without eating, it is getting hungry from all of its physical exertions. The lion stumbles upon a nearby stream, running over to gulp down the water. Nearing the end of his slurping, he becomes more aware of his surrounding noticing a large bighorn sheep in the forest. The lion crouches down in the dead beige grass. His fur coating helping him with camouflage. The bighorn sheep makes his way over to the little stream. The lion is downwind from the bighorn sheep making it easy for the lion to stalk its prey. The lion's mane is filled with a thick musk making it necessary to be downwind from prey. When the lion gets close enough he pounces toward the sheep. The sheep make a quick maneuver away from the lion, very surprised by its presence. In the process of its quick maneuver, it kicks the lion in the ribs with its powerful hind legs. The bighorn sheep make a run for it towards the rocky slopes. The lion chases after she sheep at speed up to 50 miles per hour the bighorn sheep can only move at a maximum of 15 miles per hour so the lion easily catches it clawing and biting at the sheep, wounding it. Luckily the sheep gets another kick in, catching a quick getaway. The sheep run straight up a rocky slope that the lion can’t get up. The sheep quickly scampers away while the lion tries to find another way up. On the other side of the mountain, a lion finds another valley, hiding and waiting for the wounded sheep to come down for water. Finally, the sheep comes back for water and the lion attacks, digging its claws and teeth into the sheep. The lion takes down the sheep, winning and finally finding some dinner.
