For starters these are appreciably larger than gorillas. They have hundreds of teeth and a few mandibles. Their assumed weight is very large, and heavy. This would put enormous stress on the creature's legs, ankles, and feet if it walked on all on two limbs, but if it walked on all four limbs, like gorillas, its weight would be better distributed over each limb. So they would have to walk on all fours. They have lots of fur and body fat to keep them warm and although they are herbavors they could very easily defend themselves. They are very strong beings.

Koalas are very small yet feisty individuals. They have very sharp claws and very sharp teeth. Although they don't have the best eyesight they can smell very well and tend to have very good hearing as well. They can stay very warm and have protection against most weather conditions. They mainly stay in trees which can be very helpful when getting away from predators.
Who would win?!?I think that the koala would lose. The gigantopithecus has strengeth and survival skills. Although the koala has very sharp teeth and claws and could do some harm, when it comes to a fight the gigantopithecus would obviously win. Survival wise, the gigantopithecus has good hearing like the koalas, but koala bears probably have better hearing and for smelling they can smell further then koalas. They both have pretty bad eye sight but the gigantopithecus has better sight, especially in the dark.
